What is Stainless Steel Shearing, Stainless Steel Punching, Stainless Steel Plasma Cutting & Stainless Steel Bending?

Stainless Steel Punching

In simple terms Stainless Steel Punching is the process of using a set of punches (male) and dies (female) to shape Sheet Stainless Steel. The process of Stainless Steel Punching uses great forces as the Stainless Steel Sheet is forced to take the shape created by the punch and die set that is used. Sometimes Stainless Steel Punching is used to puncture holes in the Stainless Steel Sheet, other times just to shape the metal.

Stainless Steel Bending

Stainless Steel can be shaped by the process of Stainless Steel Bending. Stainless Steel Bending is a simple yet effect process where by Stainless Steel is Bent to take the shape of a pre made die. One of the most important parts of Stainless Steel Bending is the production of the die, which is used as a template to insure that each time the Stainless Steel Bending process is repeated the end result is consistent.

Stainless Steel Plasma Cutting

Stainless Steel Plasma Cutting involves creating Plasma that is sufficiently high in temperature to melt the Stainless Steel. This coupled with the blowing action of the high pressure gas serves to give a cutting effect buy melting the Stainless Steel and blowing the molten Stainless Steel away from the cutting surface. Stainless Steel Plasma Cutting is most effective and can be used with Stainless Steel as thick as 12 inches.

Stainless Steel Shearing

The motion of Stainless Steel Shearing is a more efficient motion than that of the chopping action used in Stainless Steel Stamping. This is due to the fact that Stainless Steel Shearing focuses all of it force onto a smaller cutting area when compared to the action used in Stainless Steel Stamping. Stainless Steel Shearing is a very precise and efficient way to process Sheet Aluminium

Different types of Steel Fabrications

Our range of Steel Fabrications include; Steel Punching, Steel Bending, Steel Plasma Cutting & Steel Shearing...

Steel Punching

Nimgrove offer a comprehensive Steel Punching service. Steel Punching involves using a great force to punch threw the Sheet Metal in to a die in a stamp like motion often using hydraulic, pneumatic, or even electrical power. Our Steel Punching results in a high quality and accurate finish.

Steel Bending

As the names suggest we offer Steel Bending services where Steel is bent with perfect accuracy to you specification. Steel Bending usually involves the production and use of a die to act as a template for the Steel Bending process. An example of a die would be a simple `L` piece, this type of die would be used in the Steel Bending process to create a 90 degree bend.

Steel Plasma Cutting

Using state of the art equipment and providing perfect accuracy our Steel Plasma Cutting services are second to none. Our Steel Plasma Cutting equipment can be programmed to cut even the most intricate of components from Sheet Steel.

Steel Plasma Cutting equipment uses the heat provided by the phenomena of Plasma to cut threw metal with amazing ease. In brief Steel Plasma Cutting equipment uses gas and air at high pressure and an electrical arch to turn some of the gas into Plasma. The heat of the Plasma will melt the Steel and the force of the gas will blow any molten Steel clear of the cut.

Steel Shearing

The process of Steel Shearing involves the use of a guillotine like machine. A blade that can be altered to yield different angles is forced down the length of the cut to slice rather than chop the Steel. The process of Steel Shearing results in a cleaner cut and uses less energy than punching as only a small section of the cut is in contact with the blade at one time – similar to action of a pair of scissors.
